WWE's Greatest Hits of the Week on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and More

0 of 9

WrestleMania 29 news, not surprisingly, dominated WWE-related social media this week.

Photos of the WrestleMania set spread around the web, WWE shared its press conference and Alberto Del Rio let fans see just how vicious his feud has gotten with Jack Swagger.

A big name joined Twitter. The Rock dominated his opponent. Andre the Giant was honored in a big way.

Facebook, Twitter and Instagram had some interesting WWE happenings and the following are among the best.

March 31: Jey Uso Tattoos

1 of 9

WWE continues its weekly tradition of highlighting a superstar's ink work on its Instagram page. This time around, Jey Uso gets the spotlight.

His intricate tribal tattoos are crisp and pop off his skin. The waves on the upper section of his arm have a touch of Japanese style to them, creating an interesting blend.

Jey and his brother Jimmy have had few opportunities to be on WWE TV in recent weeks, so this may the first time some fans have seen his tats in a long while. Hopefully, WWE will get The Usos and the rest of the tag division some more airtime post-WrestleMania.

March 31: The Rock vs. Pizza

2 of 9

The Rock may not be able to defeat John Cena, but he can apparently beat 12 pizzas in a handicap match. Rock posted a photo of himself on his Facebook page preparing to chow down.

When one works out as hard as The Rock does, perhaps this startling amount of calories gets burned off rather quickly.

Rock wrote alongside the photo, "Lets celebrate G.I. Joe! 12 pizzas. Sent by my 2 agents. Dominated by 1 man."

Is there another wrestler who would get over 11,000 shares of a shot of himself getting his grub on?

April 1: Alberto Del Rio's Scars

3 of 9

After Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter thrashed Alberto Del Rio with Ricardo Rodriguez's crutch, Del Rio tweeted a picture of the after effects.

Every mark on my body will be a broken bone for you. So start counting #PERROStwitter.com/VivaDelRio/sta…

The unsettling photo-op reveals just how intense their rivalry has become and some of the punishment wrestlers endure during their work day. Those certainly don't look like fake scars.

Del Rio seeks his revenge at WrestleMania this Sunday.

April 2: Vince McMahon Joins Twitter

4 of 9

Not long after Phil Jackson finally joined Twitter, WWE head honcho, Vince McMahon did as well.

In less than a week, Mr. McMahon has over 100,000 followers. His first tweet promised a big reveal on Friday. Check back for what is sure to be something WrestleMania-related.

Hello @wweuniverse! The Chairman is now on @twitter. Get ready for #BigReveal on Friday night. In the meantime…#RAW

    — Vince McMahon (@VinceMcMahon) April 2, 2013

As much as WWE has emphasized social media in recent years, it's surprising it has taken this long for McMahon to get on Twitter. It'll be intriguing to see if he stays in kayfabe on Twitter when his character is back on screen.

April 3: WrestleMania 29 Set Revealed

5 of 9

WWE is playing up the New York theme big time for WrestleMania.

WrestleZone.com shared a leaked photo of the WrestleMania 29 set. The ring area will have a mock Statue of Liberty and there will be a fake Empire State building in the stands. The latter would seem to be one heck of an obstruction, but we'll see what WWE has planned for that.

Regardless of what fans may think of the card, it looks like the event will be awesome from a design standpoint at least.

April 3: Andre the Giant, the Statue

6 of 9

The man who headlined both WrestleMania II and III will be honored in statue form at this year's WrestleMania Axxess. WWE tweeted a link to story to what went into making Andre the Giant's statue.

Triple H apparently conceived of the idea which pays tribute to one of WWE's best big and beloved big men.

Will this become a WrestleMania Axxess tradition? Are sculpted likenesses of Eddie Guerrero and Randy Savage on the way?

April 3: Rosa Mendes Workout

7 of 9

WWE superstars are amping up their workout routine for WrestleMania and WWE has been sharing videos of those workouts.

As big a fan as one might be of Antonio Cesaro or Triple H, their workout videos don't quite have the visual appeal as seeing Rosa Mendes in exercise gear.

Rosa tweeted a link to her video which likely provided a welcome distraction for many working men. Kaitlyn's workout is enjoyable to watch as well. Neither of those women have a scheduled match at WrestleMania, so they may have done all that sweating for nothing.

April 3: Fandango on Opie and Anthony

8 of 9

WWE's Facebook was among the many places one could watch Fandango's hilarious performance on the Opie and Anthony radio show.

Jim Norton oiled up the man set to face Chris Jericho at WrestleMania. And later, as many WWE fans have come to expect, Fandango stormed off when his hosts couldn't pronounce his name correctly.

The folks at Opie and Anthony shouldn't feel bad. No one's been able to do it as of yet.

Before he exited in a huff, Fandango did manage to toss them some tickets to WrestleMania.

April 4: WrestleMania Press Conference

9 of 9

Preparing for WWE's answer to the Super Bowl, WWE live streamed its press conference on various outlets.

Triple H stood side-by-side with Stephanie McMahon and gave a speech full of mildly-amusing banter. John Cena, The Rock, Mark Henry and Alberto Del Rio were among the stars there to hype the event.

CM Punk decided to go casual for the press conference, donning an Antonio Cesaro T-shirt. He was succinct and ornery in his speech. That's either because he knows he's going to lose to the Undertaker on Sunday or that was just his arrogant persona shining through.
