With WrestleMania 29 taking place tonight, the biggest event in sports entertainment history is about to grapple Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ.
For weeks, the WWE has heavily promoted WrestleMania 29 throughout its television product and social media outlets. With a final lineup card set in stone, WrestleMania 29 has the potential to be an event that could change the direction of the WWE and one of its biggest stars in recent history.
Below is the complete lineup card for WrestleMania 29 and match predictions:
The Miz vs. Wade Barrett for the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
Your predicted winner and new Intercontinental champion: The Miz.
It was a bit shocking to see the WWE slot a championship match during its pre-show event. Nevertheless, with The Miz turning baby face and WWE pushing for his character to reflect a young Ric Flair, Barrett's chances of retaining the title are slim at this point in time.
Tons of Funk and The Funkadactyls vs. Team Rhodes Scholars and the Bella Twins.
Your predicted winners: Tons of Funk and The Funkadactyls.
Unfortunately, this match is not only the least intriguing to watch, but will more than likely be used to fill up time. Although Team Rhodes Scholars have the potential to develop into an excellent tag team, the baby faces should see the victory in this one.
Chris Jericho vs. Fandango.
Your predicted winner: Fandango.
Hopefully, viewers of WrestleMania 29 will witness Fandango compete in his first match in the WWE. Fandango has done a good job in recent weeks drawing major heat from the audience with loud, negative chants.
The WWE could not have hand-selected a better opponent for Fandango, as Jericho is a terrific competitor to face in a debut match. Fandango should get off to a great start in his WWE career with a win.
Team Hell No (Daniel Bryan and Kane) vs. Dolph Ziggler and Big E Langston for the WWE Tag Team Championship.
Your predicted winners and new WWE Tag Team champions: Dolph Ziggler and Big E Langston.
Time has run up for Team Hell No, as the WWE should give Ziggler and Langston a strong push with the tag team belts. Combined with technical knowledge and power, Ziggler and Langston, along with ringside cheerleader AJ Lee, make a very solid unit going forward after WrestleMania 29.
Ryback vs. Mark Henry.
Your predicted winner: Ryback.
Hopefully, the ring will stay in place with these two large athletes body slamming each other. The goal for the WWE is to fully put over Ryback.
Randy Orton, Sheamus and the Big Show vs. The Shield.
Your predicted winner: The Shield.
It might be possible for a heel turn to come about in this match, The Shield should come away with a clean victory and give the heel faction an even stronger push on WWE programming. However, this match has the ability to go either way. The WWE has done an excellent job making a prediction difficult for this six-way battle.
Alberto Del Rio vs. Jack Swagger for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
Your predicted winner to retain the World Heavyweight Championship: Albert Del Rio.
Swagger's comeback to the WWE has been impressive, as his career is taking off by storm. Yet, don't expect Swagger to come away with the title, as Del Rio is currently being put over as a major baby face figure. Instead, a potential rematch could happen down the road after WrestleMania 29.
Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar.
Your predicted winner: Triple H.
Triple H's career should not end at WrestleMania 29. Although he may be approaching the end of his career, "The Game" has maintained his strong, physical shape and in-ring skills. The WWE would be wise to play it safe instead of having Triple H retire with a loss at this stage of his career. This match is not meaningful enough for a career to suddenly end.
The Undertaker vs. CM Punk.
Your predicted winner: CM Punk.
If Punk comes out on the losing end, his "best in the world" motto is no longer valid. The WWE should have Punk with his arm raised at the end of this match, given that his career needs another boost after losing the championship belt to The Rock.
The Rock vs. John Cena for the WWE Championship.
Your predicted winner and new WWE champion: John Cena.
Could this finally be the moment Cena turns heel? That is a very strong possibility, as Cena's character is in need of a reboot. The WWE could make history by having Cena turn his back on those who cheer him. It would be the perfect ingredient to have people talk about WrestleMania 29 for a long time.
