The Wizards have made the decision to sit Bradley Beal for the rest of the season due to a stress injury in his right fibula. Beal has now dealt with different injuries for a decent portion of the year and the team has decided to just shut him down and let him heal. While the team obviously has made it clear they are gunning for that ninth spot, in reality, it is all about next year, and a healthy Beal is absolutely crucial to whatever the team is going to accomplish. Beal has missed 11 of the past 16 games and didn't look totally like himself in those games he played. Completely shutting him down from any basketball-related activity for the next six weeks should in theory let him get back to normal so we can see that star we saw in January, February and the beginning of March. That stretch with Beal and Wall playing together has certainly given the Wizards a lot of optimism going forward.
