According to a recent article on WrestlingInc.com, Alicia Keys is rumored the be the one singing America the Beautiful at WrestleMania 29.

The article does however stress to "take it as a rumor for now."

Keys performed a well received rendition of the National Anthem earlier this year at the Super Bowl.

--End of Update--

Just in case you missed Raw this week, Vince McMahon is now a member of the Twitter community.

It was truly only a matter of time before this happened. WWE has pushed social media so much in the past year that it was foolish to not have McMahon on Twitter.

In true McMahon fashion, his first tweet teased a big announcement.

Hello @wweuniverse! The Chairman is now on @twitter. Get ready for #BigReveal on Friday night. In the meantime…#RAW

A recent article on WrestlingInc.com with the sited source being PWInsider claims to potentially know what the announcement is going to be. The article states that:

"Vince will reportedly be revealing who will sing America the Beautiful at WrestleMania 29."

Well, let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Although most of us probably thought this news was going to be associated with a match or story arc, there is potential that this will still be big. Bear in mind that WWE already has Diddy performing at the show. If this performer is a big-name star like Beyonce, that would be huge.

WrestleMania is more than a pay-per-view, it's the Super Bowl of the professional wrestling world. On this night, everything is magnified by a million. Every detail, no matter how big or small, adds to the spectacle of the event. Some members of the WWE Universe may not care who sings, but WWE does because it's all part of the show.

And everyone who attends the event or pays to watch at home deserves to enjoy the grandeur that WrestleMania has become.

Let's hope that if this is indeed what the announcement is that it was worth the hype.
