Insane Blue Jays Fan Goes Nuts with a Bat on Opening Day

This is my BOOMSTICK.

An elderly man in the stands ended up with a big wooden souvenir at the Toronto Blue Jays opening night game against the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday, and the results were terrifyingly priceless.

The souvenir in question was a bat belonging to Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis, who lost his grip while swinging at an R.A. Dickey knuckleball and sent the wooden object flipping into the stands.

Luckily no one in the crowd was hurt, and even luckier still the bat was picked up by an elderly crazy person, who emerged from a scrum of fans with the bat held aloft and shaking it like the sword of the witch-king.

The wild look of frothing madness on this man’s face as he menaces Kipnis with his own bat is an image you will never forget. This is the face of an elderly man—possibly a retired school teacher—who has snapped and is ready to finally destroy the copy machine at Initech.

Fans rallied around the old man, obviously excited to have what appeared to be a savior and/or spiritual leader among them. If you look behind the old man, you can see a younger guy already beginning to imitate his crazy movements with glee.

Fortunately (or unfortunately) the man ended up returning the bat to Kipnis before a movement or assault could be planned, and the Indians went on to defeat the Blue Jays 4-0
