When life hands you a compound fracture during a pivotal moment of the NCAA tournament, you go out and get yourself a puppy.

Larry Brown Sports reports on a sight that should put every sports fan's mind at ease. It seems Kevin Ware has himself a new dog and he affectionately named it Scar.

Every last person watching Duke take on Louisville this past weekend—and the many who caught the video online—sat in stunned silence as Ware suffered a horrible leg fracture.

As USA Today reported, the Louisville player received a great outpouring of support from the likes of LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Kobe Bryant.

Thankfully, things are looking up for Ware, who posted the above image to Instagram

This is perfect.

In fact, I am only upset I didn't think about this earlier. We may have had an easier time dealing with what was one of the most gruesome sports injuries in history if the broadcasters offered "get this guy a puppy" as he sat injured on the court.

Fortunately, Ware is doing far better after a brutal end to his season. Per USA Today, he has been released from the hospital and plans on making it out to the Final Four by Wednesday.

That's all well and good, but the young man now has a new puppy! And really, puppies pretty much solve everything.

I mean, sure, Scar here isn't a box of kittens, but the little guy should work wonders.

Of course, when you name your puppy Scar, you run the risk of reminding people about that horrible uncle Simba had to deal with to win back the pride

Alas, this dog is far cuddlier than that awful animated villain, so forget about all of those worries.

You can also pretty much forget about Ware getting through an awful ordeal without tremendous support from his teammates and a nation that is truly pulling for his full recovery.

Oh, and he now has a dog named Scar that will see him through every last moment of the healing process.
