A match with The Undertaker at WrestleMania has become the greatest attraction for the event. His one match is worth the price of admission to get in the door at WWE's WrestleMania spectacle. It's become bigger than the world titles. It's appropriate that his opponent this year be CM Punk, who is coming off of a 14 month title reign as WWE Champion.

With the big match up quickly approaching, let's take a look at the tale of the tape.

Time As A World Champion In WWE

The Undertaker has seen seven reigns as a world champion in WWE. Four as WWE Champion and three as World Heavyweight Champion.

CM Punk has six world title reigns in his WWE career. Three as World Heavyweight Champion, two as WWE Champion and one as ECW Champion.

The Undertaker has had one more world title reign but also has been in WWE 16 years longer than Punk. The straight edge star has been able to make his reigns last longer with 462 combined days as WWE Champion spanning only two reigns while The Undertaker's combined time as WWE champion in his career is 238 days.

The Undertaker's most prominent WWE title win was WrestleMania 13 while CM Punk's was at Money in the Bank in 2011. Ironically, both wins took place at the same building in Chicago.

Previous Match History

CM Punk and The Undertaker have competed against each other eight times in their career on television or pay-per-view. This doesn't include countless times they worked together for non-televised dark matches/house shows being that no storylines get progressed for those shows.

They met eight times in either a singles match, fatal four way or Elimination Chamber. They had one meeting in a six man tag match in September of 2009 on SmackDown that I'm omitting.

In the eight times they met, five of them were for the World Heavyweight Championship.

In the eight times they met, The Undertaker won five of the matches, CM Punk won two and one match would be counted as draw between the two as they both lost in an Elimination Chamber match to Chris Jericho in 2010.

WrestleMania Experience

This is the ultimate secret weapon The Undertaker has in any tale of the tape with any opponent.

The Undertaker is a remarkable 20-0 at WrestleMania. He's beaten 11 former WWE world champions, some of them multiple times as he has three WrestleMania wins over Triple H, two over Shawn Michaels and two over Kane.

CM Punk is 3-3 at WrestleMania. His first three matches at WrestleMania were all Money in the Bank matches from WrestleMania;s 23-25. He won at WrestleMania 24 and 25. WrestleMania 26 and 27 he suffered defeat courtesy of Rey Mysterio and Randy Orton. He rebounded last year defending his WWE Championship against Chris Jericho.

The tale of the tape shows The Undertaker versus CM Punk at WrestleMania has the ability to live up to the standard of an Undertaker match being the greatest attraction once again at WrestleMania. The odds of winning at WrestleMania, especially against The Undertaker aren't in Punk's favor.

However, looking at the list of superstars who have tried and failed―perhaps Punk joining the list of those beaten by The Undertaker at WrestleMania could be one of his greatest marks on his resume.
