If you are like me, you have been wondering why the WWE has been putting so much stock into its newest character, Fandango.

Now, obviously the company has been doing its homework and sees some potential in the budding newcomer.

However, there may be a bit more behind this push than meets the eye, as PWInsider.com (via WrestlingInc.com) reports:

Fandango is getting a spot on WrestleMania 29 because the character is Vince McMahon's new pet project. Vince is said to be a big fan of the gimmick and the arrogance that comes with it. The idea at WrestleMania 29 is for Chris Jericho to make the Fandango character stronger. Vince is really behind the success of Fandango.

Well, I gotta say, even though I am not a fan of the dancing aspect of this performer, I have to agree that the arrogance end gives him a nice old-school bad guy feel. That being said, Fandango appears to be very gifted and will definitely give Jericho a run for his money at 'Mania.

Although I do wonder if Jericho will be doing the job to Fandango or if the WWE plans on giving Y2J the victory. Let's face it, there is really no benefit in having Jericho beat Fandango. Especially considering that he is just part-timer who has accomplished everything that the WWE has to offer.

Not to mention that if Vince is truly behind this gimmick, he will probably want Fandango to win his first match.

Overall, this is one bout that I am actually looking forward to watching at "The Grandaddy of Them All." To me, it appears that this match will be a sleeper and probably surprise many fans.

The fact is, Fandango has done a solid job at giving us a taste of his in-ring prowess, and we already know what Jericho is capable of once he enters the squared circle. So I have to believe that this seemingly odd pairing has the potential of being a classic match.

In the end, we are just a few short days away from finding out if Fandango really has what it takes to succeed or if he will be a bust.
