WWE: Fixing What Was Wrong with the Final Raw Before WrestleMania 29

0 of 4

The final Raw before WrestleMania 29 is always a great way to build up as much hype for all the matches at the event.

We get a chance for superstars to plead their cases and try and get the upper-hand  before they go into the biggest event of the year.

There were plenty of things that worked last night and has gotten the WWE Universe set for WrestleMania.

However, here is a look at the things that missed on Raw and how they could have been fixed.

What Didn't Need Any Fixing

1 of 4

In the final Raw before WrestleMania 29, there were actually a lot of things that worked perfectly. While there may not have been a ton of memorable moments, there were a lot of strong segments that didn't need to be fixed last night.

Here is a list of the segments that were perfect from last night.

    What Didn't Need Fixing:

    - Daniel Bryan versus Dolph Ziggler

    - Shawn Michaels return and promo

    - Wade Barrett versus Zack Ryder

    - Mark Henry versus Santino Marella, with Ryback

    - CM Punk's Interview

    - Zeb Colter versus Alberto Del Rio

    - The Rock's promo

    - Chris Jericho versus Antonio Cesaro, with Fandango

    - Funkadactyls versus The Bella Twins

    - The Undertaker's promo and Punk's attack

John Cena's Opening Promo

2 of 4

John Cena came out to open up Raw last night. He delivered a promo that had the usual Cena passion, but didn't give us anything new or anything we are going to remember a week from now.

    What Was Wrong:

The promo was a little all over the place and nothing different.

    How To Fix It:

Cena could have gave the promo from a different location other than the middle of the ring. He also could have made it more personal.

We saw him hint at his divorce when this feud started and he could have went more into how beating The Rock at WrestleMania 29 is the only thing he has left.

I think if he focused on just how much this feud has eaten away and worn him down, it would have helped keep Cena on point and showed a little different side of him.

Squashing 3MB

3 of 4

The first match of the night was between the team of Randy Orton, Sheamus and Big Show, who will face the Shield at WrestleMania, versus 3MB.

This was your typical squash match that leads to an altercation after the match.

    What Was Wrong:

We have seen this pretty much every week.

    How To Fix It:

Give us something different. One way to fix what the WWE did last night, could have been to have one of the teams go out to the ring and call out the other team. Sort of like a "why wait for WrestleMania" and then the other team comes out and there is an all out brawl in the ring.

A more extreme idea could have been to have a six-man tag team match that includes the three members of the Shield and the three members of Team Orton, Sheamus, Big Show. However, they could have put one member of each team on the other team.

This could have tested the stability of each team and eventually led to a brawl.

Zeb Colter & Jack Swagger's Street Promo

4 of 4

Zeb Colter and Jack Swagger cut a promo on the streets of Washington DC. Colter made this feud interesting in the beginning because of his extreme views and because it kept Swagger away from the mic.

There is no denying Swagger and Alberto Del Rio are very good in the ring. But both struggle to connect through the microphone.

    What Was Wrong:

    More Colter, less Swagger talking.

    How to Fix It:

The talking needs to be left to Colter and the fighting to Swagger and Del Rio. I am looking forward to a strong match at WrestleMania, but the build up would have been stronger had Colter did more of the talking in the promo in the street.

We see that having the manager do all the talking and the superstar do the fighting works with Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman. That should be the same with Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter.
