The Boston Herald reported earlier this week that former friend and trainer of Texan fireballer Roger Clemens will be auctioning off at least $75,000 worth of Clemens memorabilia, as well as memorabilia of other players he has worked with (Jose Canseco, Jason Grimsley, and Andy Pettite).
McNamee will be selling it through a sports dealer in Massachusetts, and some of the stuff has already hit the internet auction world.
McNamee claims to be donating what he gets to diabetes research, but he will receive roughly 80 percent of all proceeds.
McNamee, after implicating these players in the Mitchell Report is now trying to completely sever ties with these players after giving them up in the name of the truth. He was going to just throw the stuff out, but has now decided to try and make a good thing out of a bad thing. Reports say that McNamee may even have signed some of the items signed by Clemens in an effort to jack up the prices.
Clearly, McNamee is trying to alienate himself from the players whose careers he helped to tarnish by removing any memory of them he has.
