Florida Ends Cinderella Run of Florida Gulf Coast
Florida 62, FGCU 50
As the clock approached midnight in the central time zone, the Cinderella run of the No. 15 Florida Gulf Coast Eagles ended at Cowboys Stadium.
After rushing out to a hot start, the Eagles' high-energy offense was thwarted by Florida, who went on a 23-2 run to end the first half and begin the second half.
Florida's defense was also suffocating as the Eagles turned the ball over 20 times in the loss.
Another key statistic that helped the Gators prevail in Arlington was their 14-of-23 line in the free throw shooting department.
The Gators will now play No. 4 Michigan with a spot in the Final Four on the line on Sunday in the South Regional Final.

Florida 48, FGCU 39 (5:00 Second Half)
Florida has not settled for many shots on the offensive end all night.
By holding the ball on offense until 10 seconds left on the shot clock for almost every possession, the Gators have been able to control the tempo of the game.
Florida 48, FGCU 36 (6:56 Second Half)
The swagger and energy that FGCU played with during their first two games has escaped them tonight.
Give Florida credit for limiting the transition opportunities of the Eagles.

Down by 10 at the under-eight media timeout, FGCU really needs an offensive run out of the break.
The Eagles have looked fatigued for most of the second half.
Florida 44, FGCU 34 (9:32 Second Half)
Erik Murphy has been fairly quiet tonight for the Gators.
That may change after Murphy sinks a hook shot in the paint to put Florida back ahead by 10.
Florida 41, FGCU 32 (10:57 Second Half)
Sherwood Brown will not let FGCU go down without a fight.
After Patric Young extends the Gators lead into double digits, Brown makes a layup of his own.
Brown now has a team-high 10 points for the Eagles.
