Wichita State Cruises Past La Salle and into Elite Eight

The No. 9 Wichita State Shockers knew that they had an advantage in the paint against the No. 13 La Salle Explorers on Thursday night.
The Shockers took full advantage of their size in their Sweet 16 matchup and thanks to Carl Hall's spectacular performance, Gregg Marshall's team booked their spot in the Elite Eight.
Hall scored 16 points and pulled down eight rebounds in the winning effort for the Shockers. Malcolm Armstead also scored 18 points for the team out of the Missouri Valley Conference.
In the losing effort, Jerrell Wright and Tyrone Garland led La Salle with 16 points.
Wichita State will now play No. 2 Ohio State in the West Regional Final on Saturday night in Los Angeles.
