Starting at the poll and leading for the first 100 laps, Martin was in this race at all times. The first caution didn't wave until lap 54 (Sterling Marlin into the wall)and Martin and Kurt Busch spent most of the time up front.

With some short pitting, Dale Earnhardt Jr. spent some time at the front before having to pit on green within 20 laps of the finish and then hit the wall to finish in the back of the pack.

Once things cycled around at the end, it was Mark Martin in charge with noone to challenge. Tony Stewart finished second, Kurt Busch third, three time track champ Jimmy Johnson fourth, and Greg Biffle fifth.

Mark Martin continues his legacy and is the oldest winner of this race.
