The first glimpse of Jarome Iginla in a black and gold Pittsburgh Penguins uniform will be a sore sight for Calgary Flames fans, the Boston Bruins and teams hoping for a Stanley Cup league-wide.
Ray Shero's slick, cloaked maneuver to nab Iginla away from the Boston Bruins assuredly makes the Penguins the odds-on favorite to win the Stanley Cup. But, alas, the game is not played in general manager offices and championships are not won during the regular season.
The newly-bolstered Penguins, now equipped with Iginla, Brenden Morrow and Douglas Murray, still have issues to work out. Toward the end of the 2011-12 season, and certainly during the first round of the playoffs, the Pens defense was completely exposed by opposing offenses. Thus, doubts remain over Pittsburgh's ability to play tight hockey in a big playoff spot.
And of course, there are 29 other teams that will stop at nothing to slow the Penguins—the Chicago Blackhawks chief among them.
So, should we just etch the Penguins names on the Cup now or can another team undermine their Cup chances? Watch the latest video to find out.
