At the site of  the historic "Thrilla in Manila" thousands of spectators witnessed an unlikely ending of a world-class duel.

Raul Martinez the unfortunate one, waives the Philippine flag in rare class act.

Nonito Donaire the victor, scored a fourth round TKO win in front of his adoring countrymen.

Donaire the reigning and defending IBO/IBF flyweight king made short work of the Mexican-American challenger.

He dazzled the crowd with his beautiful left hooks that send Martinez down four times in the course of the fight. Two times in the opening round, once in the second round and the final one in the fourth round.

After seeing the damage done by Donaire. The referee calls a halt in the contest.

Donaire improved to 21-1-0 14 Ko's while Martinez dropped to 24-1-0 14Ko's.

A Filipino day perhaps as it was a complete sweep as both Donaire and Brian Viloria put on a brilliant show.

It was story book ending in the first double-title fight held in the Philippine archipelago.
