Ricky Romero Not the Only Marquee Player Sent to the Minors
It will be a cold comfort to Ricky Romero, the Blue Jays’ fallen ace who was demoted to the minors on Tuesday, but the struggling left-hander isn’t the first prominent Jays’ player expelled from the big-league club in order to right himself. The list of players who have faced a similar fate could make the Jays’ all-franchise team: Roy Halladay, Carlos Delgado, Edwin Encarnacion.
The biggest difference is that they became all-stars after their demotion, not before. That said, Romero should still be heartened by the stories of those who fell from grace before him.
