Francesco Totti's career is turning 20, and that means it's time to celebrate.

Totti, 36, made his debut with AS Roma on March 28, 1993, at Brescia. He was 16 years old and not yet known as "Il Capitano."

Fast-forward 20 years and Totti is a legend. Widely regarded as Roma's best player ever, Totti has scored more goals in Serie A than any other active player, and he's second on the all-time list behind Silvio Piola.

A one-club man, Totti has won the Coppa Italia four times with Roma. At the international level, he picked up a FIFA World Cup winner's medal with Italy in 2006.

To mark the occasion, La Gazzetta dello Sport has quoted a number of high-profile figures from the Italian game. Juventus and Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon said:

I can still remember your first goal, Roma against Foggia. We're friends, you know how fond of you I am. We started out together in the Under-15s and spent many wonderful years together playing for Italy. We keep meeting on the pitch in Serie A, where – as the top player you are – you've often forgotten about our friendship (10 times actually, that's how often you've put the ball past me).

Meanwhile, Totti himself is trying to learn to speak "American," thanks to Kick TV. For our part, we here at Set Piece direct your attention to a video compilation of Totti's best goals (note: we had nothing to do with putting this video together). It's an impressive collection, and it serves as our Set Piece Video of the Day for this Thursday.

Enjoy, then be sure to leave us your favorite Totti moments in the comments below.
