Devils Lose Ilya Kovalchuk for Two to Four Weeks with Shoulder Injury

Seeing Ilya Kovalchuk laying on the ice in pain Saturday night was not something the Devils are used to, and Sunday’s initial prognosis that the star right wing will miss two to four weeks with a right shoulder injury was certainly a significant blow. The reality of life without Kovalchuk begins tonight, however, when the Devils take on the Ottawa Senators at Scotiabank Place. The Devils are in seventh place in the Eastern Conference with 36 points and only 16 regular-season games remaining, so they don’t have any time to feel sorry for themselves.
