With both major belts attached to one show, the question becomes how do they get a belt back on SmackDown!. Actually, it really isn't a question of how, it's a question of who and when. The how is looming in the back with a briefcase waiting to pounce.

For the second year in a row, CM Punk is the man with the magic case. A contract that says he can get a title shot anytime he wants over the next year. It won't take that long with the titles so one-sided. A hint I got this Friday was, all of a sudden, HHH vs Orton, next Monday, is no DQ.

Now, all of a sudden, HHH and Orton are going to have a big one a week before a PPV. Since Punk still owes Orton and his minions for losing the other belt this past summer, logic would say that this coming Monday would be the perfect time to cash in, especially if Orton wins.

Now this is just a theory, but Punk wins, takes the belt back to SmackDown! and starts a feud with Edge, or maybe John Morrison—if they want to give him a push. It's also worth noting that, while Punk has been mainly a face, you shouldn't rule out a heel turn if the eventually move Cena back to SD!.

There's a term in the business called Transitional Champion. It basically means giving the belt to someone that will hold the fans interest until they figure out what they want to do. This is the second time they have done this and I hope they don't make a habit of it. Punk is too good an in-ring guy to waste his ring life on something like this.
