According to the official Twitter account of the Miami Heat, the superstar guard will not play in Sunday's game due to a sore knee:

Wade played 38 minutes and scored 19 points in a win over the Detroit Pistons to push the team's winning streak to 25 games. However, it appears that the injury is severe enough to rest him against the Charlotte Bobcats.

Fortunately, Sunday's opponent has the worst record in the NBA, and playing at home offers some luxury to rest players.

While LeBron James has been the main focal point during the Heat's historic run, Wade has also been a big part of the team's success. He is eighth in the NBA with an average of 21.5 points per game, also adding five rebounds and five assists per game.

The veteran is also key on the defensive end, where he leads the team in steals at 1.81 per game.

His skill and experience in big games are simply invaluable as the squad looks to win another championship, as well as break the NBA record for the longest single-season winning streak in league history, which is currently at 33 games.

Then again, it might be smart to give Wade some rest with road games against the Chicago Bulls and San Antonio Spurs looming over the next week.

Miami should still fare well against those opponents regardless, but it would certainly be helpful to have Wade healthy and contributing.
