The Miz needs one great rivalry to reach the next step in his career.

He’s accomplished a lot in his WWE career. He held both tag team titles with John Morrison, became the longest-reigning U.S. Champion in WWE history and main-evented WrestleMania.

And yet, he’s stuck in the mid-card floundering as a good guy.

The Miz seems to have direction. He almost developed a feud against the current U.S. Champion Antonio Cesaro. Unfortunately, that feud went nowhere despite good showings for the past two months.

Miz will face Wade Barrett at WrestleMania for the Intercontinental title, and that could be a smart decision for both.

Both men need a great feud to reach the next step. Their styles are different, but they work well together.

Their triple threat match on Raw with Chris Jericho produced great work and chemistry with all three men. We all know Jericho is a great worker, but many should have been surprised by the great synergy between Miz and Barrett.

The next SmackDown episode saw Barrett at ringside during Miz’s victory over Cesaro. The March 25th episode of Raw then saw Miz defeat Barrett in a non-title match, resulting in their upcoming WrestleMania match.

Miz never had that great feud. It was close with Cesaro, but he could’ve had that feud with his old tag team partner Morrison. It would’ve been a great story to tell of former friends feuding.

Miz also could’ve had a great feud with Daniel Bryan back when Miz was U.S. champion. That never panned out, as it only lasted two pay-per-views. Although the storyline would change, that feud could still happen on a main event level.

Bryan was Miz’s protégé in the inaugural NXT. Now, Bryan has arguably had the better WWE career than Miz. Bryan and Miz would be a great feud for their chemistry and ability to wrestle. He can bring out the best in Miz.

The same can be said for Dolph Ziggler and CM Punk. Both know how to work and can bring the best out of their opponents. Miz would do well in either feud.

The Miz needs one great feud to reach that next level in his career. Wade Barrett could be that next opponent, and their possible feud could be something to talk about.
