Bill Murray didn’t do a great job hitting his tee shot at No. 9 during the Outback Pro-Am today. His shot actually traveled across the street and hit a woman, sending her to the hospital.

Luckily the woman was ok for the most part. I’d hate to mock the grievously injured.

When asked about the incident, Murray said “I wasn’t sure I was in bounds or not. And I saw this NBC golf cart coming at me and he said, ‘I hate to be the one to tell you this but you hit a lady. She’s down on the ground.’ That is, you know, sobering.”

Interesting choice of words there, Bill. Ya know, because your ex wife accused you of drug abuse, and you were arrested in Sweden for DUI on a golf cart.

Murray said that Gail DiMaggio was “overjoyed” when she found out it was he who hit her. It turns out DiMaggio had been watching from her yard, hoping to see the Caddyshack star. Also awesome is the fact that her husband had evidently just remarked “I hope he hits it over here.”

Great, he’s psychic. So he’s got that going for him, which is nice.
