With two rounds in the books at the 2013 Arnold Palmer Invitational, the field remains wide open heading into the weekend, and a couple of the sport's brightest stars are still in contention.

Bill Haas and Justin Rose sit tied for the lead at -9, but Haas has to be disappointed with his performance on Friday, as he held a commanding lead after shooting a -7 on Thursday, only to struggle to a -2 in Round 2.

Behind them is John Huh at -8 and three more at -7 in Ken Duke, J.J. Henry and Jimmy Walker, each of whom did no worse than matching their opening round scores.

A little further behind the top seven at -5 are superstars Tiger Woods and Vijay Singh, but the two had vastly different performances on Friday. Tiger, after an impressive -3 on Thursday, fell to a -2 in his second round, while Vijay made up for his first round struggles with a -4 on Friday.

Tiger's scores are deceiving because, overall, the 14-time major winner played two great days of golf, save for the last couple of holes in each round. On Thursday, Woods gave up two strokes on the final two holes. On Friday, he one-upped himself by losing another three on the final three holes of Round 2.

Going into Saturday's round of play, who will win is anyone's guess, but if Tiger can finally manage to close a round anywhere as well as he's started them, he'll be on the move by the time Saturday's round is over.

This is the tournament Tiger won a year ago and the same one he'd won six times before, so there's no reason to count him out before the weekend play has even begun.
