WWE WrestleMania 29: 5 Possible Matches and Segments for the Pre-Show

WrestleMania 29 is less than three weeks away, but there has been little discussion as to any matches or segments scheduled for the pre-show.
It was one year ago at WrestleMania 28 when WWE began airing pre-shows prior to the pay-per-view. That pre-show included a triple threat tag team title match where Epico and Primo retained the championships.
What matches or segments will WWE provide at WrestleMania 29?
According to Stephanie McMahon, the pre-show will be extended to one hour and have an interactive feature for fans that will affect the show.
With an extended pre-show, there are a lot of possibilities. Here are five possible matches and segments fans could see during the pre-show of WrestleMania 29.
No. 1 Contender for U.S. Title Battle Royal

A Battle Royale occurring during the pre-show of WrestleMania is the most likely scenario for a number of reasons.
The match concept is one that has been used numerous times during the pre-show of WWE pay-per-views. It also allows a lot of Superstars to be featured at WrestleMania. Although they are not on the actual card, these Superstars still get to wrestle for the WrestleMania crowd and get everyone hyped for the show.
Since Antonio Cesaro is not feuding with anyone currently, the Battle Royal could easily determine the No. 1 contender for his United States title. The winner could face Cesaro later on in the show for the championship.
Intercontinental Championship: Wade Barrett vs. The Miz

Wade Barrett should be defending his Intercontinental title against someone at WrestleMania 29, but a match has yet to be announced. Recently, Barrett defeated The Miz and Chris Jericho in an impressive triple threat match on Raw.
With rumors that Jericho may be facing Fandango at WrestleMania, that leaves The Miz as Barrett’s challenger. The Miz is a more logical opponent anyway since both he and Barrett were featured in WWE Studios films recently.
Depending on how WWE manages the time of its matches for WrestleMania, fans may witness the Intercontinental title match during the pre-show.
Divas Championship: Kaitlyn vs. Layla

A Divas championship match is also a strong possibility for the pre-show of WrestleMania as it has been done for other pre-shows of WWE pay-per-views.
Since some consider Divas matches to be bathroom breaks during a WWE pay-per-view, putting the match on the pre-show provides more time to the actual card of the show. At WWE TLC 2012, the pre-show match was a Battle Royal for a Divas title opportunity, which was won by Naomi.
Another rumor circulating suggests that Layla may turn heel and challenge Kaitlyn for the Divas title at WrestleMania 29.
This is match that, if it happens, belongs on the pre-show and not the main card.
Brodus Clay, Tensai, Funkadactyls vs. Team Rhodes Scholars and the Bella Twins

WrestleMania would be a great opportunity to allow Brodus Clay, Tensai, and The Funkadactyls to dance and entertain the younger audience. While 3MB is always an option against Clay and Tensai, a better option would involve Team Rhodes Scholars and the Bella Twins.
On a recent episode of SmackDown, the Funkadactyls were greeted and then attacked by the Bella Twins. The Bella Twins have also become enamored by Cody Rhodes and his moustache. This could have easily been a set up for a four-on-four match for WrestleMania.
It would actually be the second pay-per-view in a row that Team Rhodes Scholars meet Clay and Tensai on the pre-show. This not a match that affects storylines all that much, meaning it would be best for the pre-show.

The Miz may head into WrestleMania challenging Wade Barrett for the Intercontinental title, but the awesome Superstar could also play the role of talk-show host. MizTV has become the standard interview segment, especially since The Miz turned babyface around the time of Survivor Series 2012.
MizTV has already hosted Jack Swagger and Alberto Del Rio, who will be squaring off for the World Heavyweight title at WrestleMania. With an extended pre-show, we could witness a match and a MizTV segment.
There are a number of potential big names who would be great guests for the MizTV segment.
The Rock and John Cena would be very interesting as it would be mere hours before they main event the pay-per-view. CM Punk is another possibility as he prepares to challenge The Undertaker’s streak. The most intriguing Superstar to join the Miz on his show would be the dead man himself. Undertaker has only spoken once since returning on the old school edition of Raw.
The Miz would certainly welcome the Undertaker to MizTV during the pre-show of WrestleMania 29.
What match or segments do you think we will see on the pre-show just before WrestleMania 29? Will we see multiple matches or segments due to the extended time? Please share your thoughts and ideas in the comment section below.
