Chargers Sign Ohrnberger
Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports

The San Diego Chargers signed former Arizona Cardinals guard Rich Ohrnberger to a one-year contract, the team announced today. The 6-2, 300-pound product of Penn State is headed into his fifth NFL season. He has played in 18 career games and started four. The East Meadow, New York, native was drafted by the New England Patriots in the fourth round of the 2009 NFL Draft following a collegiate career at Penn State in which he was a two-time All-Big Ten choice and a third-team All-American as a senior. He played in five games his first two seasons with the Patriots, seeing limited time at right guard and on special teams. Ohrnberger spent the 2011 season on Reserve-Injured with the Patriots due to a head injury and was released in February 2012. He signed with Arizona on Aug. 1, 2012 and played in 13 games, making two starts at both right guard and center. He suffered a knee injury on Dec. 9 against Seattle and was again placed on Reserve-Injured on Dec. 10.
