Round of 64 Games to Watch

Friday: No. 11 Belmont vs. No. 6 Arizona, TNT, 7:20 pm

Jeff Gross/Getty Images

The senior-laden Belmont has been pegged as a trendy upset before, only to fall to heavy expectations. Nevertheless, the Bruins have a potential opening to the round of 32 with a struggling Arizona team.

Once in the class of the Pac-12, the Wildcats have struggled down the stretch with multiple losses of note to UCLA. If point guard Mark Lyons can be a playmaker instead of a play-wrecker, they could go deep, but Belmont will be keying on his every move.

Saturday: No. 12 Ole Miss vs. No. 5 Wisconsin, TruTV, 12:40 pm

Andy Lyons/Getty Images

The Marshall Henderson show hits the big time, as the Rebels’ polarizing star will go up against one of the Big Ten’s best.

While Henderson’s exploits will be on display, the Badgers will play their brand of tough-nosed basketball for 40 straight minutes. It can be ugly, but for old-school basketball fans, Bo Ryan’s crew exemplifies the lost game from the past.

Wisconsin is not known to fill the stat sheet up with 80-point games, so if Henderson can get hot, this one will be a barn-burner.

Saturday: No. 9 Villanova vs. No. 8 North Carolina, TNT, 7:20 pm

Streeter Lecka/Getty Images

To get the bad taste of Wisconsin basketball out of your mouth, an up-and-down matchup between former Final Four teams will cleanse your palette.

Both the Wildcats and Tar Heels like to go small, live and die by the three and the transition game. That’s good news for college basketball fans everywhere, as this matchup should be a high scorer.

Look for James Michael McAdoo to assert his dominance in transition.
