TRG Motorsports To Reduce J.R. Fitzpatrick's Schedule

TRG Motorsports announced on Thursday that it will be reducing J.R. Fitzpatrick's race schedule in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

Fitzpatrick finished fourth at Daytona, leads the Raybestos Rookie standings, and sits 17th in the point standings after four races.

"The economy has hindered our program, and unless we can get funding to run the whole season, I will be doing a handful of races for the remainder of the year," Fitzpatrick said.

"We are just being more selective of which markets we race in. I am only 20-years-old and plan on being in NASCAR  for a very long time, so as much as I would like to be at the track every week, it has to make sense for everybody involved".

Should TRG Motorsports find a sponsor either Fitzpatrick or another driver, will be driving the No. 7.

They also are looking for drivers who have some sponsor funding, but looking for a team to drive for.

I'm bummed to hear this news, sad to see the team not realize what they have in this kid. No doubt we may see him land with a new team later in the season when silly season starts or for the 2010 season.
