It was widely assumed that Jason Hanson would return for a 22nd season with the Lions after he decided to put off retirement last week.
The Lions have said publicly they want Hanson back, but team president Tom Lewand stopped short of guaranteeing that would happen at the NFL owners meetings Tuesday.
