5 Celebrities WWE Needs to Include at WrestleMania 29

0 of 5

WrestleMania has always been about the entertainment, which is why celebrities have always played a role in the show of shows. Although there haven’t been any celebrities announced for this year, unless you count The Rock, WWE needs to continue to include some at WrestleMania.

Celebrities have accompanied Superstars to the ring, been a special guest referee or even taken part in a match like Lawrence Taylor against Bam Bam Bigelow at WrestleMania XI. This year shouldn't be any different, as WWE would gain mainstream exposure by including various celebrities.

WrestleMania 29 is in the New Jersey/New York area, so there are a number of famous New Yorkers who could be involved in the show. Plus, with WWE Studios films in theaters, perhaps a number of the famous actors will show up.

Here are five celebrities the WWE needs for WrestleMania 29.

Halle Berry

1 of 5

Halle Berry stars in the WWE Studios film The Call, along with Little Miss Sunshine’s Abigail Breslin and WWE Superstar David Otunga. Naturally, Berry would be an ideal celebrity to make an appearance at this year’s WrestleMania.

WWE fans watched Berry on the March 11 edition of Raw as she discussed the film until she was interrupted by Otunga and Kane. The movie is under the umbrella of WWE Studios, so the company would be wise to incorporate Berry in some way. However, Berry should not be involved in a match.

The most logical situation would be to have Halle Berry accompany a WWE Superstar to the ring for their match, similar to Jenny McCarthy and Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XI. Unfortunately, David Otunga is a jobber to the stars in WWE and would be lucky to even have an appearance at WrestleMania 29. Therefore, perhaps Berry can accompany The Rock to the ring for his match against John Cena.

Colin Farrell

Colin Farrell is also starring in a WWE Studios film, Dead Man Down, along with WWE Superstar and Intercontinental champion Wade Barrett. Continuing with the theme of having WWE Studios film stars involved with WrestleMania, Farrell would be another logical choice.

It is unknown at this time who exactly Wade Barrett will defend the Intercontinental title against at WrestleMania 29, but chances are it could be The Miz. This could make for a very interesting situation, as The Miz also starred in a WWE Studios movie recently, The Marine 3: Homefront.

If The Miz and Wade Barrett square off against one another at WrestleMania 29, Colin Farrell could be in Wade Barrett’s corner, while Neal McDonough (also in The Marine 3) would be in The Miz’s corner.

Justin Bieber

The teen sensation Justin Bieber would be a logical choice for a celebrity at WrestleMania 29 due to his popularity among the younger audience and the mainstream attention WWE would receive.

Bieber is well known for his hit pop songs and dancing, making it obvious where he would fit on the WrestleMania 29 card. One must assume that Brodus Clay and Tensai will have some sort of role during the show of shows. Perhaps an impromptu match against 3MB. Justin Bieber would be a great fit as a special guest referee or special guest ring announcer.

After an obvious win by Clay and Tensai, Bieber can certainly get down and dance with Clay, Tensai and the Funkadactyls.

Spike Lee

When one thinks about celebrities in the New Jersey or New York area, Spike Lee should be in the front of one’s mind. Lee is a famous film director, producer, writer and actor. He is also well known for appearing courtside regularly at New York Knicks games. Having a local celebrity at WrestleMania 29 would be wise for WWE.

Where would Spike Lee fit in WWE’s WrestleMania 29 plans?

One scenario would have Lee involved with Alberto Del Rio and Jack Swagger’s feud. Lee’s movies have dealt with racism and the role of the media, which could fit into the World Heavyweight championship feud.

Victor Cruz

5 of 5

Victor Cruz, a wide receiver for the New York Giants, would be a logical choice for a celebrity at WrestleMania 29. The show is being held at MetLife Stadium, where the Giants play, and football players have a history of getting involved with WWE and professional wrestling.

With less than three weeks until WrestleMania, Cruz’s role at WrestleMania is unlikely to be in the ring. However, playing the role of an enforcer would make sense. Mike Tyson was the enforcer of the Stone Cold Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels match at WrestleMania 14. Cruz could be the enforcer of any match on the card, but the more likely ones would be either the World Title match or The Undertaker’s match against CM Punk.
