Pablo Sandoval has been diagnosed with an irritated nerve in his right arm. I’m not sure yet if tests today specifically ruled out structural damage, but the prognosis suggests that is so. I’m told that over the next few days Sandoval will rest and get treatment, which is not the worst thing for the third baseman. He has played so much recently, in Venezeula and the World Baseball Classic, that he does not really need a lot of at-bats or time at third base ahead of the regular season, which begins in two weeks
