After spending 1½ days in Houston, free safety Ed Reed returned to Atlanta, where he resides in the offseason, without a contract with the Texans. Reed, an 11-year veteran and former NFL Defensive Player of the Year, arrived Thursday morning in owner Bob McNair’s private jet — accompanied by general manager Rick Smith and two financial advisers Brad Davis and Brad Schwartz.
