ON IF GOING HOME IS A NICE CONSOLATION AND IF HE HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH UK GOING TO ROBERT MORRIS: “No. First of all, no. The only thing we knew, two weeks ago the administration came to me and said ‘Look, if we don’t finish strong, we’re not going to be able to host a first-round (NIT) game. Are you all right with that? Do you still want to play.’ And I said, ‘Absolutely.’ If that’s what we are, then we’re playing. We’re not above all the rest of the world. If this is what we deserve, then we’re gonna go play and see what we do. But as far as playing at Robert Morris, no. But sometimes the committee says, ‘Hey, Cal’s from Pittsburgh, it’ll be a good story.’ You don’t know. But I will tell you that I didn’t. If I did have something to do with it, I would’ve said let’s play Robert Morris at their place. It’ll be a great thing for them and hopefully it’ll be a terrific game.”
