Brian Scott will be making his second career start in the Nationwide Series at Phoenix International Raceway this weekend, driving the No. 10 Great Clips Camry for Braun Racing.
Scott has two prior starts at the track. He has raced in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and in 2009, he recorded his first top five finish in the fall truck race.
He should have a good solid run, log laps, stay out of trouble, and have a solid top 15 finish. The key for him will be how well he qualifies for Friday's night race.
"It's certainly a good feeling to go to a place where I have some laps under belt and have more experience on tracks like Phoenix," Scott said.
The Boise, ID, native will have a lot of family and friends in attendance at the race cheering and supporting. Sure we'll see him qualify well, run a decent race, and with the help of his veteran pit crew put together a great finish.
Last week at Nashville. Scott started 24th, ran top 16 for most of the Pepsi 300 and ran a decent debut race. Unfortunately his engine overheated and ultimately finished 25th two laps down.
Scott still will be making two more starts in the Nationwide Series with Braun Racing and have yet to be announced.
