The Rockets could finally see the Golden State Warriors and sixth in the West just ahead of them. They had pulled up the Warriors’ rear bumper, close enough to set their sights on the passing lane. The Warriors left them in the dust. The Rockets went from their top scoring game, quarter and half of the season in the first meeting with the Warriors to their lowest-scoring quarter, half and game in their final meeting, with the Warriors easily taking a 108-78 rout to match the Rockets’ most-lopsided loss of the season.
