Ryback and Mark Henry fought on the March 15 edition of SmackDown. It ended with The Shield attacking Ryback and Henry hitting the World’s Strongest Slam on him.
It appears their feud isn’t over yet. In fact, it’s only begun. The match was made official March 18, and both men will square of against each other in two and a half weeks.
Ryback vs. Mark Henry is beneficial for both WWE Superstars.
For starters, both men need a moment at this time to cement their careers. Henry needs that feud that does him wonders, like his 2011 feud with the Big Show. They had classic big-man matchups that rejuvenated both men’s careers. At the moment, Henry needs that opponent to solidify his heel status once more.
Ryback needs a big win over a big name. He lost to CM Punk and The Shield repeatedly in pay-per-views and TV shows. Ryback needs a huge win in order to solidify his status as a main event player.

Ryback was originally supposed to team with Randy Orton and Sheamus to face The Shield. Plans changed as Big Show took Ryback's place after the announcement for this clash of titans. It was a smart move by the WWE to book this match.
Ryback is exactly what the WWE looks for in a superstar. The crowd loved him because of his smash-mouth style and that catchphrase, “Feed me more!”
Pitting Ryback against Henry gives Ryback new life in his persona and a true test of his power. He hasn’t faced anyone in a singles match that is stronger than him, until Henry came into the picture.
This matchup would give Henry the opportunity to pass the torch of the strong man role. We don’t know how long Henry has left in his wrestling career that has been marred with injuries. He was even hurt during his world title run. Henry can pass that torch to Ryback and give credibility to the hungry superstar.
Ryback and Mark Henry against each other would benefit both men. The WWE was smart to book this match at WrestleMania. Anticipation should be at a fever pitch when these two monsters collide at MetLife Stadium.
