Catholic 7, Big East Split Has Minimal Impact on Rutgers

Except for some additional basketball travel against five new league opponents, Rutgers remains largely unaffected by the announcement today that the Big East's seven basketball schools are leaving as of July 1 and taking the league name with them. The Scarlet Knights remain on schedule to join the Big Ten in the fall of 2014 and will play out their final season in a renamed conference that includes Cincinnati, Connecticut, Houston, Louisville, Memphis, SMU, Temple, UCF and USF for all sports.
