On April 7, WWE will hold its grandest pay-per-view of the year with WrestleMania 29, but the card is not even close to being complete. There are a number of WWE Superstars who need a clear direction to have a place and a match at the show of shows.
Other than the two World titles, no other champion has a scheduled match at WrestleMania 29. That is sure to change, as Wade Barrett, Antonio Cesaro and Team Hell No should learn of their opponents soon, but some of the challengers are uncertain.
With that said, here are five Superstars, including champions, who need a clear direction as soon as possible prior to WrestleMania 29.
Mr. Money in the Bank Dolph Ziggler should have a clear direction toward the World Heavyweight title.
However, Ziggler continues to lose the majority of his matches on WWE TV. He doesn’t have a clear WrestleMania opponent and for those of you who think that Ziggler will face Jericho, when was the last time they interacted?
Since after the Royal Rumble, there hasn’t been any indication that these two will see each other at WrestleMania. Jericho now looks to be on his way to challenging for the Intercontinental title.
Enough is enough and it’s time for WWE to start building Ziggler toward a WrestleMania match.
After Rey Mysterio took a leave of absence from WWE programming, Sin Cara has been left without a clear direction.
Last week, Sin Cara went 2-0 in matches against Heath Slater and United States champion Antonio Cesaro. The victories could have been the start of a push for the luchador. That is, until Raw, when Sin Cara was squashed by Jack Swagger.
It seemed at one point that Sin Cara would face his former partner in Rey Mysterio at the show of shows, but that is highly unlikely at this point.
With Cesaro left without a WrestleMania opponent, why not have Sin Cara continue to feud with the U.S. champion?
Since losing the Intercontinental title to Wade Barrett, Kofi Kingston has been demoted to a regular jobber every week. He lost to Dolph Ziggler at Elimination Chamber, was supposed to face Fandango and lost to Mark Henry on Raw.
It looked as though Kingston would reunite with a returning R-Truth against Damien Sandow, but we haven’t seen R-Truth since that incident.
It’s becoming less and less likely that Kingston will have a match at WrestleMania, but his best option would be to reunite with R-Truth.
The tag team division could use all the help it can get and the former WWE Tag Team champions were fan favorites who were quite popular with the younger fanbase.
For some reason, Antonio Cesaro has gone from bringing back prestige to the United States title to another champion who consistently loses. WWE has done this way too much with their midcard champions and it's caused Cesaro to lose a clear direction heading into WrestleMania.
Cesaro has never had a long-term feud while in WWE and WrestleMania season would be the perfect time for just that. Unfortunately, Cesaro continues to lose to the likes of Ryback, Randy Orton and Alberto Del Rio.
There is a chance that WWE has another battle royal during the pre-show of WrestleMania, with the winner earning a title shot against Cesaro. This would give multiple Superstars an opportunity to appear on the show and give Cesaro a suitable opponent.
Kane and Daniel Bryan may be Tag Team champions, but there has been no indication as to who they will face at WrestleMania. Some may be expecting them to square off against one another, but recently, they have been featured in singles matches more than tag team matches.
Team Hell No has conquered the tag team division, as no other team has been able to take the titles away from them. Fans have witnessed the same tag matches against Team Rhodes Scholars and the Prime Time Players multiple times, but the finish is always the same.
Bryan and Kane should face one another, with the winner being the undisputed Tag Team champions in WWE. However, there have been no signs of this match happening with less than four weeks until WrestleMania.
