Undertaker vs. CM Punk will be the match of the night at WrestleMania 29.

The Rock and John Cena are sure to do something special. As the headliners of the huge event, they'll get the bulk of the headlines and buzz, but no one is going to compel between the ropes on April 7 like Undertaker and Punk.

Not only do both The Deadman and the Best in the World have an impressive history of fantastic WrestleMania matches, but the dramatic power of Undertaker’s undefeated streak enhances the matchup.

Punk and Undertaker's collective WrestleMania resume all but guarantees that they'll compose a classic.

A History of Greatness

Just last year, Punk delivered one of the best, most enthralling matches of WrestleMania 28 with his battle against Chris Jericho.

It was a match that Kevin Kellam of Examiner.com called "the second best match" of the night—a sentiment shared by many.

Before that, Punk had impressed against Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania 26 and Randy Orton at WrestleMania 27.

Undertaker's penchant for awesomeness at The Showcase of the Immortals is well documented.

His streak of classics is astounding. His last two battles with Triple H at WrestleMania 28 and 27 sucked in the audience from bell to bell.

John Canton of TJR Wrestling called their most recent clash, "a story that was perfectly told and a match that was truly unforgettable."

Beyond that, Undertaker has had great WrestleMania matches against Kane, Edge and Batista. His two WrestleMania battles against Shawn Michaels are among WWE's best matches ever.

Those matches won both the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and Pro Wrestling Illustrated Match of the Year awards.

Simply putting two men capable of such greatness together is likely to lead to another Match of the Year candidate. It's Undertaker’s streak, though, that puts this match on an unparalleled level.

The Streak, The Stakes

There have been countless battles over championships and over bragging rights, but the fight for Undertaker's WrestleMania streak is a uniquely compelling set of stakes.

Undertaker's streak has been one of the company's most intriguing storylines and a highlight of several WrestleManias in a row.

The power of this annual match builds with every year.

The prize of defeating him grows ever richer. Undertaker's immortality grows with each win.

Every two-count Punk gets on Taker is going to make fans hold their breath. Though it doesn't seem likely that Punk would get the one victory no one else ever has, fans won't be sure until the final bell.

The streak and the danger of it going away creates suspense like nothing else in wrestling.

Will CM Punk be the man who finally beats the Undertaker?

It almost doesn't matter. It will be the ride that counts more than the destination.

Regardless of the outcome, fans are assured greatness in the ring—a match that will be the talk of WrestleMania 29.
