Nebraska Community College Gatorade Celebration Turns into Hilarious Fail Video

Gabe ZaldivarPop Culture Lead WriterNovember 27, 2016

"Thanks for guiding us to a win, coach. Now, taste the hardwood!"

The Gatorade bath is one of the more treasured practices in sport, and by far one of the easiest. You pick up a cooler of ice-cold sports drink and pour it all over your coach after a victory.

Sounds simple, right?

Somehow, this community college basketball team managed to turn the Gatorade celebration into a senseless act of slapstick comedy.

Busted Coverage reports on one Gatorade bath that, for all we know, is still claiming innocent victims.

The North Platte Community College women's basketball team had just dispatched Dakota College in Bottineau, N.D. to win a seat at the national tournament.

A Gatorade drenching was in order.

As you can see from the video, the basketball court can be quite the hazardous locale to spill significant amounts of liquid. It doesn't take coach Richard Thurin long to go from being upright to having a faceful of court.

Really, seeing Thurin go into a full plank would be enough to make this video a classic, but we get an added treat when a member of the audience tries to play superhero.

Whoops! Nobody get near the Gatorade—it's swallowing people whole.

Feel free to laugh, because Thurin's granddaughter tweeted at Busted Coverage that both men were just fine and laughing at the ordeal.

Good, 'cause so are we.
