Current Cleveland Browns wide receiver Braylon Edwards is extremely close to becoming a New York Giant.
Both sides are hoping to mend their differences and come to an agreement before the NFL Draft on April 25 and 26.
Cleveland reportedly asked the Giants for second and fifth round picks in this year's draft along with up and coming wide receiver Steve Smith.
However, the Giants rejected the trade, not wanting to give up Smith, and countered with two draft picks, most likely the original two, but throwing in Domenik Hixon instead of Smith.
“The Giants are motivated. They’re trying to win right now,” said a source close to the situation. “Edwards is a bigger guy that Eli wants to throw to, like he had with Plaxico. The Giants know they can’t leave Eli with no great receivers. They saw what happened last year.”
