Greg Paulus Works out with Packers: Now My Least Favorite Athlete Ever

If you've read my writing or my bio, you'll know that when it comes to the NFL, I love the Chicago Bears, and for college basketball, I bleed Tar Heel Blue.  I am passionate about both teams and, as a result, I have an equal amount of massive disdain for their bitter rivals.

I am, of course, talking about the Green Bay Packers and the Duke Blue Devils.  Sure, my other favorite teams have great rivalries (Cubs-Cardinals, Hawks-Wings, Bulls-Pistons), but they just don't quite match up to the atmosphere when each of these sets of teams meet.

I've always wondered whether the Packers or Blue Devils are my least favorite team.  Now, I don't have to decide.  I can just hate Greg Paulus.

On Tuesday, it was reported that Paulus, a former Duke Blue Devil guard, had a workout in front of the Packers' representatives in Durham, NC.  Paulus had offers from multiple schools, including Notre Dame, to play football in college, but opted to play basketball for Duke and coach Mike Krzyzewski instead.

If Paulus joined the Packers, it would give me a face under which to unify my contempt.  I've always despised Paulus, because to me he epitomized the Duke Blue Devils.  Now, as a potential Packer, he would give me twice the reason.

Players often transfer teams, but rarely transfer between sports.  Paulus is in rare air here, and if there is another example of a player like Paulus with respect to your favorite teams, please share it here.
