Real Madrid have stepped up their interest in Gareth Bale by telling Tottenham they are willing to offer ex-Spurs star Luka Modric and £30million for the Welshman.
The Spanish champions are keen to land the Tottenham man in the summer, and hope that offering Modric as a makeweight plus a hefty sum will persuade chairman Daniel Levy to part ways with his prize asset.
