The future looks lame, so maybe the solution to the Niners' quarterback problem of the present is to turn to their past. But whom to call?

Steve Young has what appears to be a neat job talking on television that he'd unlikely abandon. Joe Montana has a full schedule devoted to ruining his reputation. And Y.A. Tittle is 81 and probably busy running his insurance business and yelling at kids to stay off his lawn.

Instead, they need a younger, less rusty option who has a history with this team. Specifically, the 49ers should call on Jim Druckenmiller, assuming they saved his number.

  1. Stupid. Thank god you are not in the niners front office.

  2. apparently anonymous doesn't know a joke when he sees one. Well I for one thought it was funny.

Anyway, what about Jeff Garcia? At least he's still in the league. And besides, Tampa Bay has around 5 quarterbacks, all potential starters. So Jeff Garcia is actually possible, in comparison to the qb's you listed.

  3. Bring back Drunkenhumper!

  4. I'd much rather bring back Steve Bono...

But seriously, I bet that Steve Young would still be more effective than Alex Smith.

  5. It Doesn't Feel Good Knowing That Alex Smith Was About As Productive As Ryan Leaf, Does this mean he's one of the worst 1st picks in NFL history?

  6. This is probably the most idiotic post I have ever read. What a waste of time for the reader and the writer.

  7. Wait a minute, let's borrow a page from the KC Chiefs, who have a habit of grabbing old, ex 49er QBs.
Elvis Grbac! He's only 7 years removed from the last meaningful pass thrown.

  8. Sugar Hill
