After watching his team lose two straight as goalie Tuukka Rask allowed eight goals in those two games, Bruins head coach Claude Julien decided to throw backup Anton Khudobin in to stop the losing streak against Northeast Division rival Toronto on Thursday. The move paid off as Khudobin made 25 saves to help the Bruins earn a 4-2 win. With the win, Khudobin improved to 4-1-0 with a 2.42 goals-against average and .910 save percentage.
