Yvette Prieto: Everything You Need to Know About Michael Jordan's Fiance
Yvette Prieto is about to become Mrs. Michael Jordan.
That is the first thing we need to know about her because while she won't be able to officially change her name to Princess Yvette, make no mistake about it, she is marrying royalty.
As the Associated Press' Matt Sedensky reports, Michael Jordan and Prieto applied for a marriage license after making trip to the Palm Beach County courthouse on Thursday.
This will be Jordan's second marriage. He divorced from Juanita Vanoy in 2006.
Now, on to the soon-to-be Mrs. Jordan.
This may come as a shock to you, but I have never met Yvette, nor do I run with the same circle of friends. However, Alexandra Gratereaux, over at Fox News Latino, was unable to unearth a nice bit of information on Prieto.
Jordan is not Prieto's first dance with celebrity. Before dating Jordan, she had a relationship with Julio Iglesias Jr.—the older brother of Enrique and son of, you'll never guess it, Julio Iglesias.
Of course, Prieto has her own claim to celebrity. She is a model and has worked for designers that include Alexander Wang.
At the time of Gratereaux's report, Dec. 30, 2011, Prieto was "a principal with the Miami-based companies Aqua Management and Beet the LBS."
I'm going to be frank, I'm not exactly sure what that means, but it sounds like a lofty title for someone who has only spent 33 years on this planet after being born in Cuba.
Gratereaux's report came out right after Christmas Eve, when the couple became engaged to be married.
The engagement came after the two had been dating for three years and living together for two.
Prior to meeting Jordan, the model had reportedly experienced some financial difficulties as she filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2002.
While filing for bankruptcy, and the events that led to it, is typically a bit of a setback to the old credit score, I doubt that Ms. Prieto is going to have a hard time getting any credit cards these days.
