Michael Jordan is done messing around and has finally settled on a wedding date for his marriage to longtime girlfriend Yvette Prieto.
TMZ reports the two were spotted applying for a marriage certificate in a Palm Beach County courthouse for a wedding that will take place on April 27.
For his part, LeBron James is waiting for the season to end before marrying his longtime girlfriend and mother of his two children, Savannah Brinson.
James sent out a "Save the Date" for the weekend from Friday Sept. 13 through Sunday Sept. 15 for a wedding that will take place in San Diego.
The elephant in the room for Jordan has to be the paternity suit taking place in a Georgia court. Pamela Y. Smith claims the NBA legend is the father of her 16-year-old son, a young man who refers to himself as Taj Jordan.
That suit claims Jordan fathered the child while still married to Juanita Vanoy. For his part, Jordan flatly denies the young man is his son.
Via SI.com, he states the suit is a "shameless, bad faith attempt to abuse the legal system."
For the moment, it seems allegations from Jordan's past will not deter his future with his fiancee.
This will be the second marriage for Jordan, who married Vanoy in September of 1989—the two officially divorced in 2006 and have three children with one another: two sons, Jeffrey Michael and Marcus James, as well as a daughter, Jasmine.
If we are bringing up Jordan's past, it seems only fitting that we would bring to you the best video of the week, a blast from the amazing past.
Here is Ichiro Suzuki meeting his hero, Michael Jordan.
Come for the retro marvel and stay for the '90s swag of a turtleneck Tom & Jerry sweater.
It's just about wedding season, so I would advise you to get your suits to the cleaners and prepare yourselves for some open bars.
That goes for you NBA players as well.
