The Washington Wizards provided the Timberwolves both a worthy opponent and a reason to believe when they arrived at Target Center Wednesday night with a record nowhere approaching a winning one and left 87-82 losers.

The Wolves ended a six-game losing streak, thanks to point guard Ricky Rubio’s near triple-double and his tag-team play with teammate J.J. Barea that saved the game in the final 28 seconds.
