Thomas Vanek came back after missing two games with an upper body injury and got six shifts for 4:49 of action in the first 20 minutes. The first thing I noticed is how stiff he was skating, almost straight up.

He got into a good battle with Justin Faulk, and did put the body on him and came out with the puck. Vanek also got an off-angle shot that hit the side of the net and a tip that went wide.
