MLB, NL East, Atlanta Braves, Media, peachtree tv

I just caught some of the Atlanta Braves vs Pittsburgh Pirates on Peachtree TV.I wanted to know why the scoring graphic was at the top of the screen, in bright green, and occuping way too much of it.
It simply does not working, and is the worst graphic I have seen in all of sports.

Here are some ways to fix this.
1. Try to put the graphic at the bottom of the screen
2. Try to put it closer to the edge
3. Try to make is slightly smaller, all people need is the score, current time... not alot of additional graphics, could go in just a corner...
4. Try a darker green

These are just a few of the many tips you should use to fix your graphic.

It really hurts, especially when the camera movements aren't as fluid, it comes off looking very awkward.

It might be that it shouldn't be on every camera as well. Try it only during pitching.

Sorry, I've worked in television for many years, and this is just one small example of a non-sports television broadcasting a sports event. I know, Peachtree TV is the new TBS, but they weren't great before. Now they've gone over the line. I feel bad for Atlanta fans, they must be brave to watch their team like this for years.

  1. Obviously you don't watch baseball on TV. Everybody puts the scorebug up top, Genius. You can watch the games or not... your choice. But don't assume to understand what a new network is trying to achieve with it's coverage. Peachtree TV is the new TBS and it has large shoes to fill while developing it's own culture. Why don't you just stick to your little website here and let the big boys do the important stuff.

    Skot

  2. I don't quite see what you're so worried about Skot, Peter clearly has nothing wrong with the scorecard being on top to a point he is basing his whole article just on that one point. He was simply giving his opinion on what he feels would look good on the screen.

Peachtree TV may be the new TBS but what does that have to do with anything?

darker colours are much more easier on the eye. I would rather watch a scorecard that was just plain black and white than some big bright green beast that takes up too much room on top. The less space the scorecard takes up on the screen the more I get to see what the hell is going on on the pitch.

I remember at the start of the NBA season TSN had this tosh of a scoring graphics. It looked simple, had good use of colour...but no one could read the bloody score because the font was too small. And I'm not going to say anything about TSN's integrity just based on that. Who cares if Peachtree TV is the new TBS...just do the job right.

I've seen my fair share of shitty game scorecards, from soccer to hockey [the rubbish that some channels use for score keeping is appalling] but new network or not, the people working at the desk putting up the scoreboard must have thought "Hey. Bright green...kinda an eye sore??".

And yes I watch plenty of baseball on t.v.

  3. Current time? This guy must not watch much baseball. You need Innings, outs, and baserunners. And yes everyone puts score on top

  4. I watch the Braves every season. I like the graphics at the top, but I noticed the graphic being to distracting while watching the whole game.

I think they left the scoreboard on even during quick plays, and alot of camera movements.
I felt kinda sick watching that.

Othen then that, the graphic looks ok, but yes it's not a great scoreboard, I think they are just in a testing phase.
