When you think of NFL players who have made Super Bowl guarantees, you have to start with Joe Namath. Back in 1969, Namath predicted the Jets would beat the heavily favored Baltimore Colts. No one, not even his coach, thought Namath's prediction would come true.
Guess what? The Jets won Super Bowl III, and Namath would achieve legendary status.
Another big New York football guarantee came in 2008, when the Giants were to face the 18-0 Patriots in Super Bowl XLII. Plaxico Burress predicted New York would win. Thanks to the now-famous "helmet catch" by David Tyree, the Giants went on to win.
There have also been tons of wrong predictions (Rex Ryan).
All this begs the questions: Should you take a prediction made by a player in March seriously? Should a player actually make a Super Bowl guarantee in March?
Check out the video above as Von Miller explains why he made his bold statement.
